While exploring zoomorphism and playing with slabs of leather hard clay, Sommet spontaneously sculpted this elephant using slabbing and interlocking sculpting techniques. The theme of spontaneity carries through to the piece’s finishing. Sommet played with temperature to create an unpredictable colouring.
